98% for Thomas Telford students
Thu, 01 Sep 2011
Thomas Telford School students have again achieved a 98% pass rate for twelve or more A*-C grade GCSEs including English and Mathematics which last year saw the School as the top performing comprehensive in the country in the Government’s Performance Tables.
Sir Kevin Satchwell, Headmaster, said: “I am delighted that our students have maintained the high standard set last year. This time one in every two grades was A* or A (51% to be precise) which I consider to be an amazing achievement for students of all abilities. I am very proud of all of the students and grateful to the parents for their support and to the teachers for their hard work.”
There were some remarkable individual performances with fifteen students achieving between 15 and 19 A* or A grades each.
